Excessive Heat Advisory Still In Effect For Today

Much of Western New York is still under an excessive heat advisory until 10 pm tonight.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo issued the advisory. We could see the heat index in the mid to upper 90s.

* LOCATIONS...Northern Erie county. Highest heat index values
  inland from Lake Erie.

* TIMING...Through late this evening. Highest heat index values
  from late morning through early evening.

* HEAT INDEX VALUES...In the mid 90s.

* IMPACTS...Consecutive days of dangerous heat and humidity will
  bring an increased risk for heat related illness. The elderly,
  very young, pregnant, and those with heart and respiratory
  conditions that don`t have access to air conditioning are
  especially at risk during long lasting heat waves.

If you plan on being outside today, please be careful and make sure to wear sunscreen.
