That is the day that free agency begins and players who don't have a contract can sign with new teams. For the Bills, they are expecting to lose two key members of their defense.
Both Tremaine Edmunds and Jordan Poyer are not expected to be with the team next season. It looks like one other player is also angling for a big pay raise.
Ed Oliver who will be playing on his 5th-year option next season posted on Instagram his desire to get paid (He has since taken the post down).
The Bills picked up Oliver's 5th-year contract last year and he is set to make just over $10 million dollars in 2023. The team can work with him on a long-term deal and back-load it so they can get some cap relief in 2023.
Some of the top defensive tackles in the league like DeForest Buckner, Jonathan Allen, and Rob Payne all make over $18 million dollars per year. That price might be too steep for the Bills to pay and Oliver could end up leaving the team via trade before the start of the season or as a free agent after the season.
