In the past few years, we've gotten used to the notion that we can work from anywhere — and it's nice. I'm not going to become a digital nomad and work across continents, but I have a great suggestion for workers who need a change of scenery: Pop open your laptop at Platter's Chocolate Factory.

Their cafe has so many cozy spots with well-cushioned chairs, along with rows of tables that sit 2-4 people, two fireplaces, five TVs, and a custom community tables that seats 10. You can enjoy chocolate, pastries, coffee, soft serve, ice cream, bubble tea, and much more while crossing items off your to-do list.

My wife, Elizabeth, is part of a hiking group, and after winter hikes, they will go to the cafe to get some coffee or hot chocolate. They can just hang out, warm up, and socialize. I could see book clubs, bible studies, study groups, retirement clubs, and similar groups enjoying the space, too, and it's a great option for catching up with friends.

Aside from the cafe, you can take a self-guided tour of Platter's Chocolate Factory and see all the work that goes into their sponge candy, chocolates, cookies, and more. You'll also learn about the rich history of Platter's Chocolate — their collection of chocolate molds is truly impressive to see!

Before you go, check the current cafe specials and menu. You'll see why it's my top space for work, meetings, and catching up. The cafe's regular hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Maybe I'll see you there!
