Parts of New York State will see temperatures that we haven't seen in years.
In Western New York, the temperatures will drop to zero and below for the first time since 2019.
According to the website coldweather.net, the coldest temperature ever recorded in New York State was back in 1979. It was on February 18th of that year when the temperature was recorded as -52 degrees.
The good news is that the cold arctic blast won't stay with us for too long. After the cool down Friday night into Saturday, the weather will bounce back on Sunday.
The average temperature across New York State in the month of February is in the low to mid-30s.
