This week team announced that they have hired their first-ever female athletic trainer.
The team Tweeted that Marissa Figueroa will become the team's assistant athletic trainer, making her the first full-time athletic trainer the team has ever had.
Figueroa is a familiar face around One Bills Drive as she has served as an athletic training intern with the team since 2021.
Figueroa was part of the athletic training staff that was honored for their work during the Damar Hamlin incident on the field last season and she was one of the lead trainers working with Buffalo Bill cornerback Tre White as he recovered from a torn ACL.
Buffalo Bills General Manager Brandon Beane has been impressed with Figueroa since she joined the team as an intern.
"The first thing you notice about Marissa is her positive attitude," Beane shared. "She's always around and available to help out, and that's what you need in this industry. You show up here early in the morning and Marissa is here. Late in the day, she's here as well. She loves being around, and you can tell she's got passion for the job."
Figueroa will be busy in her new job as the team is holding their rookie mini-camp this weekend.
