Massive Bissell Vacuum Recall Issued In New York

If you needed a reason to not clean the house this week, you might not be able to use your vacuum. Bissell has issued a massive recall of their Cordless Multi-Surface Wet Dry Vacuum.

The recall is for over 60,000 vacuums and affects models 2551, 2551W, and 25519.

The vacuums are being recalled due to faulty battery packs where the circuit inside the battery can start to smoke and possibly catch on fire.

According to the recall notice, customers that have these vacuums should stop using them immediately.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled vacuums and contact BISSELL for a free battery pack replacement. Consumers can either take the product to a local BISSELL authorized service center for a free battery pack replacement or schedule a free in-home repair visit from an authorized BISSELL service technician to replace the existing battery pack.

The vacuums were sold nationwide online and across New York State at Walmart, Kohl's, Amazon, Costco, Finger Hut, Ace Hardware, and Wayfair.com between January 2019 and November of 2022.
