“Big Money” Winning Lottery Tickets Sold In New York

This weekend was another lucky one for lottery players in New York.

The New York State Lottery announced that there were three "Big Money" winning lottery tickets sold in the "Empire State" from this weekend's Mega Millions and Powerball drawings.

There was one 3rd-place winning ticket sold from Saturday Night's Powerball drawing. That ticket matched four out of five numbers and also has the Powerball number. That ticket won $50,000.

Saturday's winning Powerball numbers were: 9-11-27-59-66 with a Powerball of 19

Two other "Big Money" winning tickets were sold in New York from Friday's Mega Millions drawing. Each one of those tickets matched four out of five numbers and also matched the Mega Ball. Each one of those tickets won $10,000.

Friday's winning Mega Millions numbers were: 11-22-42-64-69 with a Mega Ball of 18.

No one claimed the grand prize from either drawing which means this week there are millions of dollars up for grabs.

The next Powerball drawing is tonight and the grand prize jackpot is now up to $214 million dollars.

The next Mega Millions drawing is on Tuesday, February 6th and the grand prize jackpot is up to $358 million dollars.

While winning those jackpots would be nice, it would not be close to being the largest lottery jackpot ever won.

That honor goes to Johnnie Taylor. He won $476 million dollars playing the Mega Millions in April of last year.

This winning Mega Millions ticket was sold in September of 2021. The NY Lottery does not know who owns the tickets.

Johnnie Taylor took home the jackpot from the Mega Millions drawing in April of 2023.
