First “Big Money” Powerball Winner In New York State

2025 started off with a "Big" win for one lottery player in New York State.

After the balls were drawn for the first Powerball drawing of 2025, the New York State Lottery announced that there was one "Big Money" winning Powerball ticket sold in New York State.

That ticket beat 1 in 913,129.18 odds to win the 3rd place prize of $50,000. That ticket matched four out of five numbers and also had the Powerball to be the 1st "Big Money" winner of 2025 in New York State.

Wednesday's winning Powerball numbers were: 6-12-28-35-66 with a Powerball number of 26.

No one claimed the grand prize, so the jackpot for Saturday's Powerball drawing is now up to $200 million dollars.
