Get ready for local neighborhood Facebook pages to be flooded with "Did You Hear That?" or "What was that big boom?"

Anytime something goes bump, someone on one of those Facebook groups will ask those questions. Well, we wanted to get ahead of the questions.

Expect "Big Boom" in Cheektowaga On Friday

If the weather cooperates, you will hear a "Big Boom" in Cheektowaga on Friday morning around 11 am. The Bellevue Fire Company posted on their Facebook page that the owners of the New Enterprise quarry on Como Park Blvd. will be blasting rock on Friday.

Here Is What Residents Near The Quarry Can Expect

If you live near the quarry, you can expect to hear several loud booms as the workers blast parts of the quarry with explosives. You also might feel a "Shockwave" or have your windows rattled by the blast.

Here is a look at how work crews will blast the quarry.

It is not known how many blasts the quarry crew plans on doing during the event on Friday, but you can expect to hear it all over Western New York. Officials with the Bellevue Fire Department are asking you to share this news with your friends, family, and neighbors so no one is caught off guard by the blast.

New Enterprises owns two different quarries in Western New York. On top of the one on Como Park Blvd, where the blast will happen on Friday, they also own a quarry in Williams on Wherle Drive.
