Peak Fall Foliage is getting closer and closer here in Western New York and there are a couple of spots that offer some of the best views of the colors changing.

According to the I Love New York website, Western New York is getting close to peak fall foliage.

Right now much of the region is still near peak and that will change very soon.

In Erie County:

More than 50% change in Buffalo with a bright mix of fall shades.
70% change and peak in East Aurora with orange and yellow shades, and a few red and purple pops.

In Genesee County:

50% in Batavia with average shades of red and yellow, plus a little orange.

In Niagara County:

50% change in Lewiston with autumnal hues.
50% change in North Tonawanda with a mix of fall colors, especially red and yellow.

In Orleans County:

25-30% change in Albion with some red and orange leaves.

In Cattaraugus County:

100% change in Randolph with very brilliant oranges and reds, plus some yellow.
75% at Allegany State Park in Salamanca with just-past-peak yellow and red leaves and considerable droppage.

In Chautauqua County:

75% and very brilliant peak autumn shades of orange, yellow and red at Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua.

With those numbers expected to climb to 100% leaf change here are some amazing spots to see the wonderful colors of Fall in Western New York.

HOLIDAY VALLEY SKI LIFT

When there is no snow, the ski lift at Holiday Valley offers an amazing view of the surrounding area in Ellicottville. Grab a ticket and get ready to see some amazing colors.

LETCHWORTH STATE PARK

Letchworth was voted a top attraction in New York and offers amazing views from the many different trails in the park. One of the best places to check out the Fall Foliage is along the "Grand Canyon of the East"

THE ETERNAL FLAME TRAIL AT CHESTNUT RIDGE PARK

Not only is this just a cool trail to take and see the flame, but as the colors around the trail change it turns into one of the prettiest walks in Western New York.

DEVIL'S HOLE STATE PARK IN NIAGARA FALLS

This is more of an advanced hike, but for people willing to take the hike to colors of the leaves around the Niagara Gorge are amazing.

ALLEGANY STATE PARK

The largest state park in New York State is also one of the best places to see the leaves change color in Western New York. From hiking to biking to driving, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the color change in Allegany State Park.
