This Is The Best Pizza City In New York State

The world's first pizzeria was opened in New York City back in 1905, so it is no wonder that New York State was recently ranked as the best state in the entire country when it comes to pizza.

What is a surprise is the city that was ranked as the best city for pizza in the best state for pizza.

When you think of pizza, you might think of the thin-crust New York Style pizza, which is served mainly in New York City. You might also think of the more doughy cupped pepperoni pizza that is served in Buffalo.

The city of Rochester probably doesn't jump to the forefront of your mind when you think of pizza, but in the latest study the "Flower" city was named the best city in New York for pizza.

The survey conducted by Clever, a real estate data company, broke down what makes a great pizza city into different categories. They included the reputation of the pizzeria, the cost of a large pizza, and Yelp! scores. 

Rochester came out as the #1 city for pizza in New York with an overall score of 100, which also made it the #1 pizza city in the entire country.

Buffalo was the best pizza city in America and the 2nd best in New York State. New York City was 8th overall and 3rd best in New York, followed by Albany and Syracuse.
