New York's Best "Back To School" Tradition

Schools are back in session all across New York State, and many families have special traditions that they do.

But there is one tradition that is BETTER than any of the other ones.

This Is The BEST Back To School Tradition In New York

This is something my wife Elizabeth and I started back in 2010 when my son Avry headed off to kindergarten for the 1st time, and we continued it all the way through this year as he started his junior year at Robert Morris University.

It is the 1st day of school, margartias!

Yes, margaritas.

Here is how it started. Both my wife and I took the day off from our jobs for our son's first day of school. We wanted to make it special and wanted both of us to be there when he hopped on the bus for the 1st time ever.

It was great, all three of us waiting at the bus stop, some tears were shed when he climbed aboard and left for school

So after my wife and I looked at each other and thought, now what do we do for the next 8 or so hours?

We didn't have anything planned; we were so focused on getting Avry off to school without any issues, we didn't think about what we would do when he left.

That is when we decided we should relax and to help our anxiety of Avry being away from us for the 1st time, we would have margaritas with lunch.

So that is what we did. We headed out to our favorite Mexican restaurant, had lunch and a margarita, and talked about what Avry was doing at school.

We had so much fun at lunch, and we were excited to pick up Avry from the bus stop that afternoon.

The next year, it happened again, we both tokl the day off and ended up with a margarita on the 1st day of school. The next year it happened again and our tradation was born.

We have now have had a margarita on the 1st day of school, every year since that 1st day of school.
