Here is another one for the books! Argentine soccer star Ever Banega is sidelined for the season after he ran himself over with his own car.

23-year-old midfielder for Spanish La Liga side Valencia, was stopping at a gas station on the way home from training on Sunday when he suffered the freak injury.

After stopping he forgot to apply the hand brake, the car rolled back, crushing his left leg. He is expected to undergo surgery and be sidelined for six months.

According to Fox Sports Banega joins a long list of soccer players who have suffered freak injuries. Rio Ferdinand of England injured his knee watching TV, while former goalkeeper Santiago Canizares missed the 2002 World Cup when he injured his toe with a broken aftershave bottle.
