Many beer lovers in Western New York will be sad today as one of the most popular breweries in Western New York is now closed.

It came as a shock for many beer lovers as 12 Gates in Williamsville announced yesterday on Facebook that they have closed down.

Some people took to social media to show their disappointment even saying they had no clue a closing was coming when they were there on Saturday.

The owners of 12 Gates Brewery thanked all their customers on their Facebook post but didn't give a reason for the sudden closure of the brewery.

The good news is that beer lovers still have plenty of breweries to check out in Western New York. Craft beer has become a big-time business here in Western New York.

If you are a big fan of 12 Gates Brewing, you might still be able to find some cans at local grocery stores. Most places might have some stock left at the time of this writing.

12 Gates was known for a special Bills theme beer. it produced the Pancho's Legacy Mexican-Style Lager which was brewed in memory of Bills Superfan Ezra Castro, also known as Pancho Billa. Part of the proceeds of the beer sold was donated to local charities in Pancho Billa's name.
