Police Rescue Children From Padlocked Room
Two Buffalo parents are facing charges after they allegedly left five children home alone.
Buffalo police responded to a welface check on Pritchard Street after neighbors heard two children yelling for help from a window. Upon arrival, police officers realized that it was not a good situation, and could hear the children yelling.
Officers quickly responded by kicking down a padlocked door inside the home and rescued a three-year-old and a five-year-old who were locked inside. Police say that the children were locked in the room for at least an hour.
The parents, 34-year-old Melissa Khanthvout and 29-year-old Carlos Fuqua, are in custody and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Police notified Child Protective Services, and the children are said to be in good health.
*** Seriously, what is wrong with people??? How could any human being think that it's ok to lock toddlers in a padlocked room. Perhaps the parents should be kept in a padlocked room! *** ~Keith Kelly
