Crash In Sardinia Leaves Three People Injured [VIDEO]

Police and rescue workers rushed to the scene of a serious accident on Route 16 in the Town of Sardinia on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, a tractor trailer and a car crashed just before 1:45P.M. when the tractor trailer driver wasn't paying attention and failed to stop at the intersection.

Three people inside the car were extracted from the vehicle, and rushed to ECMC with injuries. One of the teenage female victims suffered serious injuries.

Route 16 was closed from Allen Road and Route 39 for several hours.

New York State Police and the Erie County Sheriff's Office are investigating the accident, and have stated that the tractor trailer driver could possibly face charges.
