Cheektowaga Standoff Ends Peacefully

A man is facing several charges following a nearly six hour standoff in Cheektowaga.Police responded to a call on Mapleview Road, where a couple was arguing and then the man tried to choke the woman. When police arrived and entered the home, 36-year-old Shawn Bottomley pointed a gun at them. Police quickly backed off, sealed off the perimeter and called the SWAT team.

No shots were fired, and Shawn Bottomley is in custody after he surrendered hours later, without incident.
